The main goal of this expedition is to activate a new one for IOTA, Parrot Island, which is situated in the estuary of the Corantijn River between Surinam and Guyana. Nieuw Nickerie will be the base for this expedition and from there an attempt will be made to travel to Parrot Island. Since there is very little information available about the area I will arive a few days early in order to have enough time for the final preparations. To make sure that Parrot Island meets the criteria for a new IOTA reference a nautical map has been checked by G3KMA. More maps of Surinam can be found here.
