I have a bachelor degree in automotive engineering, but from 1995 - 1998 I was working as a gamedesigner of coin-op gambling fruitmachines.

I had to investigate the market and design machines. In order to develop the machines, I made use of the development-team of the manufacturer(ACE) in England which actually built the machines. When a prototype was ready, I was responsible for the complete testing of a model with 10 machines on testsites throughout the country. I was responsible for obtaining an approvals for the machines by the Netherlands Measurement Institute in order to operate the machine. I was responsible for the productinformation for trademagazines, commercial-mailings and technical documentation.

The most fun of the job, was standing on tradeshows(ATEI London) and showing "my" 2 machines. Pic here. And flying every 3 weeks from The Netherlands to England all expenses paid was fun too.

The first machine(Aces High) I designed had the looks of the Bally Centaur Pinballmachine. On the flyer: note the colors, the semi-mythological figure and the little balls around the edges. The name Aces High comes from a song by Iron Maiden and an early Bally pinballmachine.
