Much research has been done on the name Van Hattem (Van Hattum) in the last decenniumia. Mr. W.A. Wijburg was the stimulating force. Mr. J. van Beynum, Mr. W.F.M. Ahoud en many others displayed much effort. Mr. D.F. Tollenaar did most of the work, searching archives all over the country during more than ten years. Finally he produced his article concerning the Shears-Van Hattem family (Gens Nostra of October/November 1983). He draw up the genealogy of the Rose-Van Hattem and did the basic work on the Genealogy Hien en Dodewaard. The latter two genealogies have not been published before.
